Deandre Richie receives UW GSEE Award

CONGRATULATIONS to Deandre Richie (he/him), first-year genetic counseling graduate student, who has received the University of Washington Office of Graduate Student Equity & Excellence (GSEE) Graduate Supplemental Award!

As a queer person of color, Deandre is no stranger to the systemic inequities present in the healthcare system--something that cultivated his desire to address and rectify them. He’s excited to join the UW GCGP in order to develop the skills necessary to become a great genetic counselor, and further his knowledge of genomics. He hopes to use his education to help identify and advocate for historically underserved populations in the field. Congratulations again, Deandre!
